Job Description Job Description:
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and food items
Prepare and cook special meals for patients according to the dietitian's or chef's instructions
Plan and supervise kitchen assistants
Supervise kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
May set up and supervise buffets
May clean the kitchen and countertop
May plan menus, determine portion sizes, estimate food needs and costs, and monitor and order supplies
May hire and train kitchen staff
Working Conditions
• Full-time, permanent contract (35 to 40 hours)
• Hourly wage: $18.50 to $22
• 35 to 40 hours/ 5 days a week
• 10 days of vacation
• Lodging: $1,000
• Daily meals Staff
• Overtime 1.5% of salary after 8 hours or 40 hours per week
• Holiday pay 4% of gross salary
• Caregiver leave entitlements
• Sick leave and vacation days
• Payroll taxes, such as Employment Insurance (EI) and the Canada Pension Plan
