| Job Description | Quebec Days job offer Job title: Conventional boring machinist Number of vacancies: 2 positions Number of years of experience required: 5 years Skills required: Experience working on conventional machines (large horizontal boring machine) Training: DTS, BTS, DUT training in machining, mechanics, electromechanics, or equivalent. Expertise : • Read and interpret drawings, sketches and symbols to correctly position the components and determine the machining operations to be performed and to determine the optimal sequence of operations; • Read the work instructions determined by the methods office; • If the project has already been done, highlight the documented manufacturing methods; • Choose the right tools according to the operations and the materials to be machined; • Design, manufacture or modify jigs for assemblies; • Assemble parts on the conventional machine tool so that the various operations are as efficient as possible while avoiding multiple assembly manipulations; • Adjust and operate various conventional machine tools such as Boring Mill and lathe, to perform precision, non-repetitive machining work, including turning, milling, boring, drilling and grinding work; • Machining of large parts, which can be more than 2 meters long; • Check, using precision instruments, whether the dimensions of the products are accurate and comply with the specifications and report any discrepancy to his immediate superior; • Calculate dimensions and tolerances, to measure factory items; • Document manufacturing methods for each new project: step, assembly, tooling, etc… -Propose improvements if necessary for future projects; • Perform preventive maintenance on machine tools; • Ensure that the conventional machine tool on which to perform the work is in good condition and check the oil levels; • Report any operating anomaly to his supervisor; • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by decluttering storage areas and circulation corridors when required; ** Hiring tests will be carried out on site ** *** Please note that the period of employment is relative to the duration of the work permit issued under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program *** |
