Job Description Job duties- CARPENTER
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
Salary: between CAD19-22/hour, 6% vacation pay, holidays paid, dental and health benefits, flight ticket paid for employee, 44 hours guaranty per week plus optional overtime up to 10 hours per week for 150% rate from the regular salary. Annual salary is in average between CAD 40,000-60,000.
The spouse is eligible for open work permit and the kids are eligible for study permit or visitor visa. After 12 months of full time employment, they are eligible to apply under Alberta Nominee program for permanent residence. After 18 months of employment, the family is eligible to receive monthly Child Benefit from Canadian government.
Employment requirements
Completion of secondary school is usually required.
Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry is usually required to be eligible to work as carpenter.
