Job Description | -preparing and implementing early childhood education programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children; -direct children's activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs, taking them to places of interest in the area and giving them the opportunity to express their creativity through art, games roles, music and physical activity; -plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety and well-being of children; assess children's abilities, skills, interests and needs, and discuss children's progress or problems with their parents and other staff; -observe children to identify learning difficulties or behavioral problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor; -guide and help children develop good eating, bathing and dressing habits; -establishing relationships with and collaborating with colleagues and other community children's service providers; -planning and arranging, as required, activities for school-aged children participating in before and after school care programs; -supervising and coordinating, as required, the activities of other early childhood educators and assistants. -Early Childhood Educator Assistants support early childhood educators in delivering programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children; -involve children in activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs and preparing crafts; -prepare and serve snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for dinner and naps; help children develop good eating, dressing and grooming habits; -provide written observations on children to early childhood educators and supervisors; maintaining daycare equipment and assisting with household chores and cooking; -attending staff meetings to discuss children's progress and difficulties; - May assist early childhood educators and supervisors with record keeping. |
