Job Description Tasks & responsibilities
The production supervisor is responsible for contributing to the manufacturing processes in the production area, mentoring and directing employees, and ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with the ISO 9001: 2015 management system (management of Total Quality), the NLCSA Certificate of Recognition program, and the principles of lean manufacturing.
• Operate the tensile testing machine. Data entry and report analysis using internal database.
• Use the Shop Floor Manager to track daily timesheets.
• Determine priorities and develop the daily production schedule, allocate resources and coordinate the production process.
• Provide advice and lead the workflow through team leaders
• Apply policies aimed at ensuring good maintenance, cleanliness and order in production areas.
• Promote continuous improvement and recognition programs
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental policies, systems and processes.
• Ensure compliance with the ISO management system
• Ensure that manufacturing errors are used as training opportunities for production personnel.
• Ensure products are manufactured efficiently, meet customer specifications and meet requested delivery schedule.

• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
• Ensure that all unsafe conditions and incidents are immediately reported and addressed.
• Participate in all suggestion box meetings and discussions, as appropriate.
• Follow occupational health and safety guidelines as outlined in company policies.
• Ensure that non-conformities (defects) are identified and eliminated.
• Ensure that Improvement Suggestions (OFI) are presented and implemented if possible.
The production supervisor may also be required to perform additional tasks from time to time adapted to his skills.

Education

• Speak English
• Speak fluent French, or TEF level 7 (to qualify for Mobilité Francophone)
• Post-secondary education and / or work experience in a processing or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software required
• Mechanical aptitude
• Supervisory experience or other experience leading teams / groups is an asset.
• A certificate or other training in safety, quality, leadership or management is an asset.
