Responsibilities and Duties:
✓ Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Geotechnical Engineering with a focus on
but not limited to the following domains: Geotechnical Engineering, Foundation Engineering,
Earth Retaining Structures, Earthquake Engineering, Bridge Engineering, etc.
✓ Engage in scholarly research and publications in Geotechnical Engineering.
✓ Advise students on academic and career goals.
✓ Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to develop new programs and initiatives.
✓ Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
✓ Perform other duties as assigned by the program chair or the College Dean.
General Requirements:
✓ A Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized
university.
✓ At least seven years of teaching experience.
✓ A record of excellence in teaching, research, and service.
✓ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
✓ Strong organizational and time management skills
✓ Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements
✓ Knowledge of student development theory and best practices in higher education.
✓ Experience in the field or industry related to the department or program.
